hi! we made it to the coast. we are in mazatlan, sharing the beach with a few mexican tourists and NO AMERICANS OR EUROPEANS. i was told today that there used to be lots of tour buses, but they don´t come any more. the beaches are almost empty. quite nice for us. staying here a couple of days at least for a break from driving, then heading down the coast. we officially entered the tropics 11 kilometers outside of mazatlan by crossing the tropic of cancer. i should have got a pic…

you can see why this place immediately became a tourist mecca. stunning curved white sand beaches, lots of birds and fish. a picturesque little town (not so little any more) islands offshore. we both wonder why nobody lives on them…
